WEDDINGS/EVENTS - Gatsby Lawn Party!
Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 5:45PM Last weekend, my husband and I went to see Midnight in Paris, the new Woody Allen film starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, and the always-captivating Marion Cotillard. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’m just going to say that Owen’s character has a bit of a romantic fascination with the 1920’s.
I started thinking about the infinite possibilities of throwing a 1920’s, Gatsby-themed party. It turns out that I’m not the only one because several major cities and arts/literature organizations have thrown spectacular Gatsby bashes. You should too!
Glamorous, fanciful, and just plain fun, a Gatsby Lawn Party will give you and your friends the chance to step back in time and forget your present troubles. Dress up in the finest flapper fashions; show off your Charleston moves, and indulge in a picnic banquet complete with your choice of champagne, mint juleps, or martinis. If the flapper look isn’t your favorite, then dress in whichever Roaring 20’s style you prefer. I love the chic menswear look in my inspiration board.
