Obsessed. It’s the single best word to describe how I feel about my two new favorite songs, Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars and Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People.
When my best friend Ginny came to visit me in Los Angeles a few months ago, my husband secured us tickets to a taping of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The entire live audience was enamored by that night’s band, The Civil Wars, roaring with applause, and some even shouting with enthusiasm, “They are good!” It was The Civil Wars' first national television performance, but I am confident that it will only be the first of many. With a soulful, indie folk sound that speaks to their southern roots, this compelling duo will knock your socks off. I love watching their passionate intensity as they sing so close to one another, and of course, who can ignore John Paul White’s irresistibly cool Johnny Depp vibe?
My husband and I cannot stop listening to the undeniably catchy song, Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People. Los Angeles radio has latched onto this song, and we are officially hooked. This talented, Los Angeles indie rock band is currently touring with upcoming concerts in Texas and California. Don’t miss your chance to check them out!
