When reports started trickling in that the Fashion ‘Powers That Be’ had deemed this spring “all about the brights”, I honestly felt like flipping cartwheels in celebration. But, despite my brief stint as a cheerleader in middle school, everyone who actually knows me understands that this gymnastics tribute would end in colossal disaster, not to mention major embarrassment on my end. So instead, I decided to stick with my strengths and search for the cutest bright looks I could find.
I am not by any means a beige, grey, khaki, overly subtle dresser, so it was easy for me to instantly fall for all of spring’s lively hues. Don’t get me wrong, greige certainly has its own allure, and to everything there is a season. Spring is just not (nor ever should be) that season. When I think of spring, I picture sunshine, daffodils, warmth, and joyful, new beginnings. And so, the choice for my favorite spring bright was simple – yellow. What an effortless and fun way to brighten others’ days and add a little cheer to your own monotonous routine.
